Huge SK fan, Tampa resident who saw you guys 7-8 times. I will drive anywhere to hear you sing. In my opinion the most original voice I have ever heard. Good luck with all your endeavors, hope to see you soon.

Hey Matt,

I saw you @ the Poison show end of July...what a freakin' flashback that show was, it's funny how I feel old in my 30's now. It's nice to see that you are doing so well. You probably didn't remember me, and I'm sorry that I was so "Excited", the 18 year old comes back in me sometimes ya know...anyways, I have a whole lotta Saigon Kick Stuff for ya, if you ever want to go through it, including the time at the Cameo Theater when you decided we all needed a BUTT shot!!! hee, hee. Well drop me a line sometimes, and I can't wait to check out your prophecies. Peace Out, and Keep Representing your SOUTH FLORIDA Roots!!!! Joie :)

Brad Raker - Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 11:06 AM
Great to see you back making great music again. I had a road band called Circle Six back in the day. We did the Button South and City limits, etc. Used to see you guys and Marilyn Manson and the Spooky kids before anybody had a deal at the Treehouse in Hallandale. Ah, good times. Good luck. Best to you, bro.

Michael Phillips - Thursday, June 26th, 2008 11:58 PM
Matt, Saigon Kick was one of the best bands back in the day. Is there any chance of a reunion in 2008? I was in a Baltimore based band back then and we loved to jam to your tunes. Put the bullshit aside and bring back the magic. Life's too short! Mike

Matt,
I was a roadie and sound engineer for bands on the STI circuit back in the late eighties and early nineties. I just can't help but think about all the good bands and music that was happening back then. Your band Saigon Kick was a great example of that certain sound we all strive for and and some acheived. I miss those days and the fun we all had in that scene. I still listen to your stuff regularly and it sounds as good today as it did to me back in the day. Thanks Brother.

Jim

Matt,
I'm in Tallahassee now working for NPR (a long way from WSHE!)
We have a 1928 Steinway Grand at work I've been waiting for the University to tune for 2 years. Today they did. And tonight when everyone had gone for the weekend, I sat down to hear how it sounded. Now I haven't heard, played, or thought about this song in years, but when my fingers touched the ivory, Come Take Me Now just... poured out. Still gives me chills. Then not 2 hours later, a complete stranger commented on a great picture I have of us from a hundred years or so ago. Had to reach out and touch you, and thank you for touching my life... even still.
I hope our paths cross again someday. Now... to check out your new work! Cool!
peace,
TC McGuire

Toni - Friday, February 22nd, 2008 4:55 AM
Hey Matt. It is an honour to write to you. When I was a teen, I searched for someone going to America just so that I could get them to buy 'The Lizard' (as it was not available at the time in Australia). I have never been into rock, but Love is on the way converted me and gave me such respect for the talent behind the songs. I hope that this message finds you well! I am now searching for another copy of 'The Lizard' as alas.... Mine has gone. Thank God for the internet is all I can say! You are truly gifted. Toni.....xx

Hi Matt, I want to say that your work is awesome.
Of course, I knew about your work as the singer of Saigon Kick and I'm still thinking that you are one of the most talented, outrageous and creative singers of all times and I'm not lying, I'm just telling the truth.

Just in case you want to know, I'm from Chile, a very far away country in which most people loves your work with Saigon Kick and Now with your solo career.

Congratulations for this awesome album.

Keep on rockin' man

I've been a fan of yours since I saw SK open for Ratt in Atlanta a couple of months before your first release. Since then I've seen and met you twice with SK. I hope I'll get to see you sometime this decade as well. You're one of the nicest artists I've met, and you rock like Hell.

Jorgie72 - Friday, August 17th, 2007 2:55 PM
Matt you should try the UK out on the back of a band touring here - I think you'd be surprised by the response - I know Tesla did a gig recently and plan to come back due to the response - and every time Skid Row come back they get a good turn out - thats cos the old school is still strong.

amber lee - Monday, August 13th, 2007 5:17 PM
I live here in South florida and I am so proud of the band member who have gotten clean and sober through the program and wish to give my best wishes to your band members recent birth of his child

Hey Matt, I just wanted to give you a shout and to say Thanx for a show I got to see back in the day with "SAIGON KICK". I don't remember the exact year, but I remember the show like it was yesterday! It made me RUN our and BUY ya'll's CD! The show was at 328 Performance Hall in Nashville, TN. You played with The Royal Court Of China, LSD(Life, Sex, & Death), and then SAIGON KICK!! I was so F***IN" BLOWN AWAY!!! Your stage presence was incredible, the sound was lethal, and the show was one of the, if not the, BEST I've ever seen!!! I just wanted to say Thanx for the memories and the Good Times!! Ya'll KICK ASS!!! Peace, Denny Williams Bassist "SHOTGUN BLUE"

Just thought I would drop a line and say what so many others have already said:

Your music has made a huge impact on my life, and I appreciate that. As much as I would love to see the legacy of Saigon Kick carry on, you gave us two great records, as did Bieler to a lesser degree, but the debut and "The Lizard" still hold up for me. As an underground club dj, I still sneak in some of your music.

Continued luck in all you do!

Peace,

Skel

Pogo-Joe - Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007 10:09 PM
Matt,

I see that Carey Peak (from Dore Soul) left you a message about a year ago.

Could you please have him email me at drucerito@gmail.com if you still have his email address?

I have known Carey since the day he played "Running With The Devil" at his Lauderdale Lakes Middle School. Anyways I lost touch with him a few years back, as I no longer live in the US.

Even though I knew and was friends with many of the same people you used to hang out with back in the early Saigon days I unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet you.

Athough once while you were shopping at Sam Ash in Miami Lakes about 5 years ago, one of the salesmen there called me since I was the Sennheiser rep back then to help answer some questions you had on headphones and microphones.

Anyways all the best to you and your future musical endeavors!

By the way I know Rich Lavoir (sound familiar) quite well and email him every once and awhile. If you haven't spoke to him, please drop him an email at: rich@comsound.us

I am sure that he would enjoy hearing from you.

PS - Are you still in touch with Sebastian from Skid Row? If so, will we ever see you on the Gilmore Girls show as well? Just kidding! Take care!

vens - Thursday, January 18th, 2007 10:31 AM

Hi matt I'm from new orleans and remember counting the minutes to see a SAIGON KICK show at the state palace theatre down town sorry to say I was devestated to find out the show was canceled, New Orleans is the getto rap capital of the world its hard to market good metal bands here.....I still listen to your music all the time and notice the different styles and vairations of your music....just like the beatles and led zeppelin.. to me you guys are easily in the same class to bad the mainstream is so f****n out of touch...just look at the current american Idol winner what a no talent asshole....I woulden't let that clown plung in your microphone....iT TURLY MAKES ME SICK...I never knew you guys made two other cd's after lizard... so first thing tomorrow I will have to special order them from best buy or something...because no way I can find it on the shelves..I am so starved for any metal show down here the last coolshow I saw was RATT LA GUNS and WASP together I got so drunk so as not to get depressed when the show was over because no tellin when I'll be able to party and jam like it was the late eighties....There was a metal club back then that had .25cent beer on monday nights....It was great you could get drunk get laid and listen to SAIGON KICK for $2.00dollars...Shit I miss those days....every time I listen to (suzie) in my truck....It breakes my heart....Never think for one secound that your music is dated....If I were to hit the lottery I would gladly pay you guys 60,000 just to play a few songs...Only a few really really appreciate your genius.....Good luck...Heartbroken in new orleans SAL

Well, just got a hand on this surprisingly good CD.
As a huge Saigon Kick fan , I'm trying to get all solo releases of Saigon's members(and that is impossible in Slovenia - yes, you have a hardcore fan in Slovenia, Europe). So I purchased WAr from amazon, and god - it is so freakin' good, althought I was expecting stripped down Saigon Kick sound. Goodbye to all tommorows and the only Saigon Kick sounding song (the last one) are my fav!

Thanks god (or in this case Matt) for music like that!

I just read an article written by you (I believe) in the Pacific Sun 9/06. You review the band Vinyl. Have you heard of Monophonics? playing at 19 broadway tonite. My son is the guitar player. They may help to fill the antsyness you have when you don't see Vinyl for awhile. Jon Korty says they are his favorite band. They will be on tonite headlining.

Hey, Matt, somewhere out in cyberspace -- How much would you charge to do a show? I am totally dead-on serious. My wife and I are celebrating 10 years together in December, and Saigon Kick was the soundtrack to our courtship. We even specified the band at our reception HAD to do some SK songs. It would be absolutely the coolest thing ever if you could pull that off. Drop me a line with an answer (yes, no, who the F*#! are you and why are you stalking me?) adenlawboy@hotmail.com

Hey Matt,

Don't know if you read these posts. I was just going back through the recent posts, as well as posts from 2001. I noticed that Scott Migone posted on here too. Yep, my boyfriend and I know him too. What a great guy that Scott Migone is. Hey Scott if you're reading this, this is Scott Houston's girlfriend, April. Anyway....Matt, when you are performing locally again? I live in Davie, but am moving to Tennessee in a couple of months. Would like to see you perform live before I move.

Hey Matt,

I am happy to hear that you have released a new CD. One day I hope to meet you. My boyfriend is currently having his CD produced by a mutual friend, Al Edwards husband of Tina Edwards) in Miami Lakes. I thought you were great when you were with Saigon Kick, and I saw you perform with them at the Univ of South FL in Tampa back in the early 90s. Glad to see you are still giving music your all. Keep making music :-)

I actually used to be the stage manager at what was then a massivly popular rock club in LA called Xposure 54...at Circus Circus...it was only open on Sunday nights...$25 got you 5 to 6 bands and a decent bbq buffet.

Saigon Kick were just finishing up recording their first disc and Atlantic asked if they can play a set or 2 at the club. Matt ended up exposing his ass to the audience...and i have pictures...great show...either way...

Great tunes, looking forward to more. Also digging the new artwork! Send me an email if you need anything. As always we're willing to help out in anyway we can. I'll be checking for upcoming tour dates, I don't know if that deal with Phil is still on or not. Haven't seen you since that show at the Twilight in Ybor when Mary was 8 months pregnant! Monica - Wednesday, May 18th, 2005 6:43 PM
Hey Matt,

I have had War and Peas since you sent it to me last year when I was deployed overseas (thanks!!!), and I love the entire thing. I've always been a huge fan of you and your music since way back in the original SK days (Jason who? the true fans know where the real talent in the band was).

Anyways, yesterday I heard you on XM for the first time and nearly ran off the road. Congrats on finally getting some well-deserved airplay.

Oh, and I went to the premiere of Waking Up Dead in Chicago. Too bad you couldn't make it as well, but some more collaboration between you and Phil would be a great thing.

Keeping my fingers crossed for some possible live shows that a little birdie mentioned.

Hey Matt! Just wanted to say hi and let you know I bought your new CD and think it is excellent! I've been reading your ongoing feud with beiler on metal sludge. What a goof that guy is. When I first bought your CD I played it for my brother who is very knowledgable about music, like me. He said you can really hear who had the talent in SK know after hearing your disc and comparing it to Jason's junk he put out after you were gone. He's just a wannabe frontman and is nobody compared to you! You are an artist, he just doesn't understand what that is! If your ever in the need for a guitarist, drop me a line. I'm a great writer and it would be an honour to play with a guy like you! See ya bro, and good luck!

Jeramie Crum - Monday, May 9th, 2005 7:11 PM
Hi,Matt!I haven't checked in for quite awhile on your site. It's been about a year and some change,honestly...Anyways,I just wanted to let you know that my band GLITCH is rolling strong on the South Coast of OREGON.The CD is self-titled,and the music speaks for itself. You MUST hear this music. Please,I urge you to go to battleofthebands.com/bandonsglitch If you like what you hear, please feel free to E-Mail me,and give your feedback. It is certainly welcome. You can also hear other songs on a different site at geocities.com/coosbayhardcore/glitch.html Thank You...Jeramie/Drums/Glitch

It has been years since I seen you in Milwaukee. You put on a great show when you were the lead singer of Siagon. Some of the best concerts I have ever seen in a club. Hope to see you travel North so I can see your solo act.

Hey Matt..I'm from Saskatchewan,Canada and an old headbanger from the 80's....I'm glad you don't revel in the past of being a one hit wonder band...like many old bands do these days...truth is I do like "Love is on the way" but I followed Saigon Kick b4 then....yer debut album is still at the top of my cd play list...anyways good luck on yer new ventures....and would luv to see u play live up in the great white north...

Chris Burns - Thursday, April 7th, 2005 11:10 AM
Matt, The first time I saw you guys was at Talk of War's old warehouse in Pompano. You were always polite to me and was one of the only guys on the Scene that could carry on a conversation. Your mom is also aces as she taught half of the Front men in South Florida how to sing. Tell Kay I said hello. Fat Ass Beiler needs to remember his Cocnut Creek HS days and STFU. You were and will always be the reason he ever made any money. If you ever want to gig in West Palm Beach Shoot me an email. Could help you.

Jason - Friday, April 1st, 2005 2:21 PM
I just came across the Metal Sludge stuff regarding you and Jason Bieler and I have to say I was shocked. I didn't realize there was so much pain there. It's too bad as well because there was some good stuff (music) there. It's just hard to look past the words of March, 2005.

Congrats on your newly designed cd cover. It looks good! Also, Congrats to you and Phil on "Waking Up Dead"!! You guys deserve the best.

BettynotBarbie - Thursday, March 17th, 2005 8:37 PM
Hey man, I grew up in Pompano and have been around since Toy Soldier and when Tom was in Stentorian. Fuck Jason he has always been an asshole and you are still one of the best singers ever. I have never laughed so hard as I did yesterday when I read that on metal sludge. Good for you. Jason is one of the most overplaying and overly gratuitous guitar players on the planet. Saigon Kick should've gone way futher but it was ruined and everyone back home knows why. Just know that.

Randall - Thursday, March 17th, 2005 4:11 PM
I told you that I would get Sludge to do 20 Questions with you. Let's do some shows together. Hit me at Randall@Sixty-10.com

Randall..... the Frontman of Sixty-10 - Thursday, March 17th, 2005 4:08 PM
What garbage Bieler was saying on Sludge. I have seen you bro in the past few months & you aren't losing your hair or gaining weight. You are just doing you own thing with your solo album, which is great. Would be great if we did some shows together!!! F**k without your voice+ Saigon would never have the success that they did. Bieler is out of his mind.

Mark Snyder - Tuesday, March 15th, 2005 4:43 AM

What's up, been a long time. I am an orignial Saigon Kick fan. Early 90's we went everywhere....Orlando, Tampa, Melbourne....If they played, we were there. We really had a great time with those guys, listening outside the fence when the show was sold out, waiting to hang out and party after shows. I will never forget the times we had.....Outside the Station in Orlando :) good times...........

Great to see you hooked up with one of the best guitarist EVER to come out of S. FL in Dave Scott ... I still listen to thei Tuff Luck tape from 91 with singer Rick Mauer ... Look forward to hearing stuff from you all ... another blast from the past. I remember getting ready to see you play in Coma when O.J. was cruising down the freeway in L.A. Keep rockin', man ... By the way, do you still see Erin Moran at all?

Hey,Matt! How's it hanging? I just found your website by chance through a web search, and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the great singing you did for SAIGON KICK!THE LIZARD takes me back to where I started from musically. What an album!Anyway,I have this band that might have an inside track to the Big Time. We're called GLITCH,and we're from a tiny town in OREGON called BANDON.We do very straightforward rock, but not Boy Band shit!Anyways, the album will be called, ctrl+alt+delete,so keep your eye out for it,big guy!I think you'd really enjoy it.I know you probably hear about alot of bands out there, but we are the real deal, baby. There's alot of shitball bands out there trying to get the word out on their music, but,I wouldn't have wrote to you if I were just kidding around. It is definitely groundbreaking material. If you e-mail me back,I'll make sure you get a copy ASAP for your listening pleasure.Just a little payback for all the inspiration your music has put into my life.I hope all your solo stuff does well, you deserve only the best!I'll pick up a copy as soon as I can! obviously, we've been waiting, Matt. For something, anything really, that would make me feel a bit like the way I did when I first heard Lizard, or Ritual de lo Habituel. I don't have the CD yet (so you should get off you @$$ and send me an advance copy), but I'm sure that whatever's left of your spiralling, maniacal consciousness found its way onto the disc.
Good luck.

Hey Matt, I just found out about your site on blabbermouth a few weeks ago when they announce you were going to have your solo album on your site for a free download. That is what I am doing right now and would like to thank you for giving the fans that gift. I am very eager to hear it, since I am a huge fan of Saigon Kick (Old & New). I always love your voice though and was sadden to hear you leaving the band. After reading the interview on this site, I now know why. Merry Christmas to you and your family and can not wait to hear the solo album. Come out to Los Angeles to do some shows, okay?

O.T. Hill - Saturday, September 20th, 2003 4:08 AM
Holy Shit!!!!Just got back from the Tampa show, the band was razor sharpe! Matt was on, lyrics and attitude was a combination of Jaggar & Freddie Mecury with a hint of Bowie. I've seen him with Saigon Kick and tonight was the best I've ever seen him perform, period. Pete Dembroski also had a KILLER solo, as did Dave Scott. The drummer Jonathan Mover rocked & the band played most of the Wars & Peas CD, plus early SK. Post show, Matt signed pictures and gave out many hugs, absolutley a great guy and very sincere. Pete Dembroski was also especially gracious with his time and he and I had a good chat about the SK days as well as his time with SuperTransAtalantic & Crushdown. The place was crowded, slightley less than full capacity. That was probably only because of massive rain in the Tampa area. If you can see the show in your town, go, and buy your tickets pre-show due to the heavy buzz. Hey Matt, thanks for the show & chat & feel free to fly myself & my wife Yolanda to Miami for an upcoming gig. Anyway,
I'm out.

O.T.

Hey Matt... Nice to know you're still out there doing your thing. You probably don't remember me, but I interviewed Saigon Kick several times back in the day down in Florida. I am an artist now based out of Nashville (great city). Anyway, I want to wish you all the best during your journey. The energy I derived from you and Saigon Kick will last a lifetime (and then some.) Take care, DJ Justice
